Welcome to LRR-RLK !

Receptor-like protein kinases (RLKs) represent a large number of transmembrane kinases which perceive stimulus at the cellular surface and mediate the cellular signaling transduction via autophosphorylation and subsequent downstream phosphorylation for intercellular communication or response to the extracellular environment. The leucine-rich repeat RLKs (LRR-RLKs) comprise the largest group of plant RLKs, which contain a varying number of leucine-rich repeat (LRR) kinases in the ECD region. The LRR is a 20-30 amino acid residue sequence motif, and appears to provide the structural framework for recognition of ligands. The number and arrangement pattern of LRRs may vary among different LRR-RLKs, partly contributing to the diversity of LRR-RLKs. In plants, LRR-RLK genes play various important roles in plant development and response to biotic and abiotic stresses.
