The Alfin-like (AL) transcription factors family contains a highly conserved N-terminal DUF3594 domain and a C-terminal PHD-finger motif, which was first identified from a transcription factor in alfalfa (Medicago sativa) plants in the form of a 7S storage protein. AL TF family participates in a variety of biological processes, including root growth and development, root elongation and meristem development.
